The Art of the Album

Welcome to Paradise is Naomi Cowan's debut album. A twelve-track collaboration with British producer Toddla T, released October 10, 2025 on 7th C Records / Easy Star Records. It moves through ska, roots, R&B and modern island pop without settling into one lane: it opens on the horn-driven 'Beautiful Ska,' makes room for guests Johnny Osbourne ('Version') and Runkus ('Lonely Love'), threads short interludes between the full songs, and closes on the ballad 'Imagine.' Toddla T's production is clean and playful, giving Cowan's writing room to breathe while keeping the low end firmly in reggae.

For Cowan, a Kingston-born singer raised in a family steeped in Jamaican music, 'paradise' is less a place than a practice: the work of protecting your peace and self-worth in a world that measures people by output and status. Across the record she sings about respect, legacy and self-love, and the interludes tie it together so the album plays like a single thought. The result is a concise statement of intent from one of reggae's most distinctive new voices and the case for its Best Reggae Album consideration.
